In 1982, the City began acquiring land to create the Rubicon River Parkway in an effort to preserve the natural resource and create a continuous green belt through Hartford. Portions of the trail are developed, but trail extensions west of North Wacker and east of North Wilson remain undeveloped.
Plans to complete the trail through phased construction starting with plans to extend to the west followed by development to the east. Funding is needed to make the project a reality. The City will continue to seek grant funds through the WDNR and WisDOT. Please call the Parks and Recreation Department to obtain details on the schedule and plans for future expansion.
